1.6 oz - the station size. One jar per shade, easy to keep in a tray, and the sensible way to carry a color you reach for a few times a month.

A practical approach is to mix the two: bulk jars on the two or three shades that empty fastest in your salon, small jars on everything else. Size each number to your own usage rather than buying one size across the board.
