The systems trade off differently. Gel polish cures under a lamp coat by coat and comes off with an acetone soak; it wear time depends on the system, the client and aftercare. Dip skips the lamp, sets with activator, and is finished at the file. Acrylic is the sculpting side, where color usually goes on top of the enhancement rather than being the enhancement itself. Most salons stock all three and let the service menu, not the shade, decide which jar comes off the shelf.
