Chisel dip powder, grouped by finish family
Chisel splits its dip powder into named families, and this page is organized around that split: Solid, Ombre, Glitter, Neon, Candy, Standard and Metallic. Sorting by finish rather than by shade name makes it easy to see which finishes a station already has and which it does not, which is a different question from which individual color to reorder.
Reading a Chisel jar code
Chisel carries the family inside the product name. Solid 80 is a solid, OM08B and OM14B sit in the Ombre range behind an OM prefix, and specialty whites such as American White SPDP2 carry their own code. Write the code on the client ticket rather than a description of the color, because the code is the part that transfers cleanly to a reorder.
Building the set in order
One workable order of purchase is whites and solids first, since those cover French work and full-set backgrounds, then the effect families as the design work calls for them. Ombre powders are named for gradient work, Glitter and Metallic are the effect finishes, and Neon and Candy sit at the brighter end of the range; which of them earns shelf space depends on the sets your salon is booking. If you want to weigh Chisel against the other dip lines we carry before committing to a family, start from the dip powder page, or stay inside the brand at Chisel.
Finishing a dip set is a filing job as much as a color one, so our file grit guide is worth a read and refills sit in files and buffers. Orders ship in 1-2 business days, and we offer free shipping on orders over $150 within the 48 contiguous states.
