What is the difference between OPI GelColor and OPI Nail Lacquer?
GelColor is a soak-off gel that cures coat by coat under a UV or LED lamp and is removed with an acetone soak. Nail Lacquer is the classic air-dry polish that needs no lamp. Most OPI shades come in both, so a client can wear gel on her hands and take the matching lacquer home.
Do I need a special lamp for OPI gel polish?
OPI gel cures under a UV or LED nail lamp. Cure times differ by lamp, so follow the timing OPI prints for your lamp type rather than guessing. You can find lamps in our nail lamp collection.
Which base and top coat should I use with OPI gel?
Use an OPI gel base coat and gel top coat with OPI GelColor. Keeping one brand's base, color and top together through a service is the simplest way to get the wear the system is designed for.
How do I remove OPI gel polish?
Lightly buff through the shiny top coat, then soak with acetone until the gel lifts, and gently push it off. Avoid peeling or scraping, which can damage the natural nail.
